I am not wearing shoes. Indeed I seldom wear shoes. Whenever it is possible to get away with not wearing shoes, I will gently kick them off. This has caused all of my employers apoplexy, and lots of people have told me things about how unhygienic it is to go to the kitchen / toilet / park barefoot. They may well be right. I am wearing black socks, which are Tescos’ value socks. I like these socks because they have very bright colours on them, but carefully hidden under the shoe line, so when you are at work you look like you are wearing respectable black shoes and socks, but secretly you have bright blue and green stripes where no-one can see them. Of course this plan is less good if you walk round work in your socks.

Socks though! I have a box full of socks all of which have days of the week written on them. I just pick them at random, so usually it'll be Monday and I'll have a Tuesday and a Friday on or whatever. But looking at my socks today, I see they are both, by pure chance, Thursdays! Not matching Thursdays, of course - one says Thursday in discreet grey writing, and the other "Thrilling Thursday" in a shocking green. But even so, the odds against this having happened must be ASTRONOMICAL!
