It is a little addictive, isn't it? You keep crinkling to see if it will keep freezing. Depending on the temp, it can go on forever.
I guess it's the first sign of madness becoming a proper Canadian.
Is Winnipeg even colder than Edmonton?
Probably comparable. We're under blizzard warning right now though. Fun time!
I refuse to believe that such cold exists. What a ludicrous notion.
I have no problem believing that it exists. Believing that *I* exist in the same location as it is the hard part.
With a chill, I'm afraid. We're not that bad, but it's certainly cooler than I'm happy with. And the house hasn't got particularly good insulation. Ho hum.
Whose bright idea was it to "discover" this continent, anyway?
At least the Canadians are pretty good at maintaining the integrity of their insulation, presumably because if they weren't, everyone would die.
Friday's predominant weather is forecast to be light showers.
Ooh, showers of light! Pretty!
I think perhaps it's spring-time here already. It's certainly a little bit warmer and the sunsets are sometimes pretty, although the mist today was vast.
Oh, you know, January - sitting outside being warmed by the afternoon sun, having a beer, watching the world go by.
Madrid has a few advantages...
Curse you! And your descendants unto the seventh generation! ;)
Actually pretty mild here. But -30? It's at temperatures like these that I remember why I love living in England.
It is weather such as this that hot cider, and the hot toddy were invented as well as activities like watching the fire crackle in the fireplace, for those fortunate enough to have one. For those without, movie, popcorn and a large pile of blankets works quite well too!
Fresh snow in Seattle this morning. Just an inch or so. :)
I am glad that it is warmer here in Oregon... I have a crap heating system in my apartment and can't really afford to have it running all of the time.
I freeze easily.
My winter however is going smashingly as I just started classes again. I get to sink my teeth into English drama or more specifically Medieval drama.
30 degrees? That's +30C, right? No? Just here?
How's your winter treating you?
I think London may have got its winter out of the way yesterday afternoon. Sunday was warm and bright. Monday was suddenly freezing. If last year is anything to go by, today we'll segue straight into an early spring that will last until about May, at which point for no obvious reason autumn will start.

Hi, Lewis. How are you today?
It makes me feel very lucky to have hot water and a nice, working heater in my flat. <3 And when I come home to these things I have a sense of accomplishment for having survived the cruel outdoors!
I'm in Saudi Arabia, where it's currently about 30 degrees. I would feel smugger about this, if not for the fact that, last week, it snowed in Saudi for the first time in nearly fifty years.
it's been in hiding.
even when i chased it to poland. WHERE IS MY SNOW? pah.
What's even MORE fun is when your snot freezes in yr nose, then melts and dribbles all over when you get inside, but yr face is numb so you don't notice.
Guess who doesn't miss Wisconsin?
Ah. Yes. You're not talking about Edmonton which is in outer London near Enfield, are you? I had a sudden moment of "but, it wasn't that cold at work..."
How is the strange demon-infested world beyond the M25?
This so-called winter sees me in shorts and a short sleeved top sweating like a pig at 8.43 in the evening, with all the windows open.
Will it never rain? I am unused to all this sunshine!
Could be worse. The season here's rather mild, but still too much of a temptation in the service of the demon tobacco.
We had a blizzard in North Wales today. It coincided with my work friend Dave Kelly and I deciding to go for a smoke / stroll the the post office. The hail was the same size as the bits that make up polystyrene boxes, but was coming in sideways with the wind. It made your ears sting. The sky was one colour and I thought it might turn into a prolonged snow shower, but here we are an hour or two later and the sky is blue and pink again, although it is still feeling decided nippy out there. We miss you. |
