But all I see in this movie (which admittedly I watched with the sound off) is Grant Morrison's "We3" waiting to happen.

I think that is cruel. For the cat, anyway. They like to stay within a specific small territory.
Thinks to self: you can't get much more of a "specific small territory" than the back of a dog.
No, you're right, it does seem a bit cruel and unusual to make animals perform in this way. Then again, I've done just as demeaning things to earn a crust.
Also, they reflexively claw-grab small scuttling things, which could work out kind of cruel for the rat...
I think it's a marvellous microcosm of society. The dog believes it has a pair of smaller weaker friends, who it must devotedly defend. The cat believes it has a mode of transportation and a packed lunch. | |
