Unfortunate Timing? [May. 30th, 2010|05:03 pm]
Cityish Alt-ish Fortyish
Forgive me if anyone else has already pointed this out and I'm late to the party...

At the end of Cold Blood, the Doctor defers the emergence of the Silurian race for 1000 years from 2020. When - earlier in the season - it's been established that humanity abandons planet Earth for the stars in the 29th century, leaving the earth behind to be obliterated in a solar firestorm.

Has this slipped the Doctor's mind? Does he hope that the crack will make history "rewritable" enough for all of this to somehow work out fine in the end? Or has he just administered the ultimate "screw you" to the Silurian race, Nasreen and Tony? ;)

Whoops! I meant to post this in the Doctor Who community, not here... well, at least there were a few people floating around who knew or cared what I was talking about...

I enjoyed this observation more than your usual output. Perhaps you should post more Doctor Who stuff in this journal, and those saddos over at doctorwho can have all the meanderings about what book you read last.

I was just thinking "Nice to see verlaine posting here again at last, pity it's Dr Who bibble though" ;-)

Looks like you got a more useful discussion out of it here, mind...
